Privacy — Schichter
The controller within the meaning of data protection law, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is:
Martin Schulze, Am Kröken 11, 57234 Wilnsdorf, Germany.
What data does Schichter store?
Privacy is an important issue, so no data is sent to third parties such as Facebook or Google Analytics. In addition, only data that you specify yourself is stored.
This includes
- your entered shifts
- your shift templates
- your notes
- your note templates
- the place of your work (if specified)
- some settings (for example whether shift names are displayed in the calendar)
All of your data is stored locally on your device so no one else has access to it except you. Deleting the app from your device also deletes this data.
iCloud (from version 1.9.1)
Starting with version 1.9.1 there is an in-app purchase that unlocks some features for iCloud. In return, Schichter stores data in your private iCloud container:
- your entered shifts
- your shift templates
- your notes
- your note templates
- backups (if enabled)
No one but you has access to the data in iCloud. Data in iCloud is subject to Apple’s privacy policy.
To delete synchronized data in iCloud, use Schichter → Settings → iCloud Settings → Reset Cloud. Turn off automatic backups via Schichter → Settings → iCloud Settings → Automated Backups. Delete manual backups via Schichter → Settings → iCloud Settings → Backups → Edit → Delete.
Deleting the app from your device will not delete data in iCloud. It remains until you follow the steps above.
iOS Calendar
When you enter your shifts into the iOS Calendar app (Schichter → Settings → Use iOS Calendar), all your shifts are created as events in a separate calendar. Apple’s privacy policy applies to the Calendar app.
Calendar and contacts access
For some features of Schichter to work, you will be asked for permission to access your iOS calendar or contacts:
- to enter shifts as events in the iOS calendar
- to display events from your other calendars in Schichter
- to create your own appointments directly from Schichter in your calendars
This permission is voluntary. Calendar data is only used within Schichter and is not forwarded to anyone.
Changes to this privacy policy
I reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to the app. The new privacy policy then applies to your next visit.
